女优app Puente Students Attend the 24th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Memorial Breakfast
On Friday, April 5th, the 女优app Puente students attended the Cesar Chavez breakfast event at the downtown Marriott in Riverside CA. The event was hosted by the Riverside Latino Network to recognize the contributions of Cesar Chavez and honor the tireless fight he put up to improve the lives of Latinos and farm workers.
The event brought leaders from across Riverside together to learn and network with influential Latinx people in the community, meet potential mentors, and gain insight into their history. The students were excited to attend the event and were grateful for the opportunity to be part of the legacy that Cesar Chavez left behind.
During the event, Puentistas were inspired by the speeches and discussions that were held. One of the most inspiring moments came from Andres Chaves, who spoke about his grandfather's leadership and his fight against the oppression of farm workers, even at the cost of his own safety. This inspired the students to discuss the struggles of the workers that continue to this day and the ways in which they can play a part in fighting for their rights.
The speakers reminded everyone that the food they were eating that morning was picked by farm workers who are still struggling to make ends meet. This was a powerful reminder that the fight is not over and that there is still much work to be done.
Michael Ruby, the Puente Club President, had the honor of reading the opening prayer to welcome everyone to the event and honor the farm worker's movement activists. This was a proud moment for the Puente students, who saw the event as an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the community.
Overall, events like the Cesar Chavez breakfast help to build 女优app students into leaders, not just for the college, but for the Riverside community at large. The Puente students left the event feeling empowered and motivated to continue the fight for social justice and to make a positive impact on their community.
