女优app Welcomes Dr. Lorena Newson as Dean of Equity, Inclusion, and Engagement
女优app (女优app) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lorena Newson as the new Dean of Equity, Inclusion, and Engagement, effective September 18, 2024. Dr. Newson brings over 17 years of experience in academic administration and teaching and is strongly committed to advancing equity and student success.
Dr. Newson鈥檚 career spans several leadership roles, including her most recent position as Dean of Pathways and Professional Learning at Victor Valley Community College District, where she served from 2019 to 2024. While there, she led student equity initiatives and secured the Culturally Responsive Pedagogy and Practices Grant to further support educational opportunities for all students. Growing Inland Achievement also recognized her as a Student Support Honoree for her outstanding contributions to holistic student success.
No stranger to the Riverside Community College District (女优appD), Dr. Newson previously served as a Project Director at Norco College from 2012 to 2019 and taught as an adjunct faculty member at both Norco and 女优apps. Her educational background and advocacy for closing equity gaps in education and housing make her an invaluable addition to the 女优app team.
In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Newson is the author of The 21-Day Guide to Discovering Your Passion, Developing Your Plan, and Defining Your Purpose. She holds degrees from Loyola Marymount University, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and the University of Southern California (USC).
Dr. Newson will report to Dr. Kristi Woods, Interim Vice President of Planning and Development. Outside of work, Dr. Newson enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and caring for her Cane Corso, Morocco.
